Venture Outdoors Trip Leaders: What We're Looking For
We’re looking for active, reliable people who genuinely enjoy serving others and creating meaningful outdoor experiences. At Venture Outdoors, the role of a Trip Leader goes far beyond leading an activity or sharing local knowledge. Trip Leaders are responsible for the entire guest experience—from managing logistics and ensuring safety to fostering group dynamics, telling great stories, and building real connections. This role is for adaptable, high-energy individuals who lead with confidence, stay calm under pressure, think on their feet, and take pride in delivering exceptional experiences every step of the way.
Requirements
21 years of age or older
Valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record
A vehicle with the ability to tow approximately 1,200 lbs
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Strong English communication skills
Physical ability to lift, carry, and manage kayak or hiking gear
Ability to hike or kayak up to 4 to 8 hours a day
Current smartphone and data plan with capability to send/receive text messages, calls, emails, access booking platform app, etc.
Comfortable leading groups and working outdoors in variable weather conditions
Flexible schedule - ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday periods—including evening + nights
Bonus Qualifications
First Aid / CPR, Wilderness First Aid, or Wilderness First Responder
ACA paddlesports or comparable outdoor certifications
Successfully completed parts or the full Florida Master Natrualist Program
Experience guiding outdoor, eco-tour, or adventure-based experiences
Background in environmental science, biology, or outdoor education
Strong storytelling and interpretation skills
Multilingual abilities
